The School of Children, Young People and Families warmly invites you to join us for the third Champions of Childhood Conference. This in-person event for students, staff and our employer partners will include a range of insightful speakers and there will be thought-provoking discussions and opportunities to network. Refreshments and food will be provided.
What's happening?
The theme of this year's conference is Nurturing children’s futures. The day will feature a range of sessions from different organisations across the region. Senior Educational Psychologists Dr Angela Wright and Dr Lucy Hatton will be sharing their work about relate and relationship-based support. This theme is followed up in a presentation by Tracy Shaw who reflects on her work with care leavers within the prison system within Durham Local Authority. Joanne Holdsworth and Georgia Hyland are sharing their work and research for the local charity Behind Closed Doors, as well as inspiring input from Leeds Play Strategy Officer, the Child Friendly Leeds Partnership Development Coordinator and the Leeds Speech and Language Therapy Team.
