What's happening?
Join us for the next Leeds Trinity Business Network event of 2024. The session 'What is stress? How can we cope?' will be delivered by Dr James Jackson.
James is a Reader in Psychology at Leeds Trinity University, having taught at the University for more than sixteen years. He specialises in the effects of chronic stress on the individual – particularly tinnitus – the effects that chronic stressors have on us as individuals (and organisations), and how we can cope with stress. James is a member of the Professional Advisers Committee for Tinnitus UK and is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS).
In his presentation, James will explain what stress is and how it can lead to all sorts of stress-related illnesses. He will look at the importance of appraisal, how and why those under pressure will fall back on training (if relevant) and instinct, as well as suggesting coping strategies and highlighting barriers in seeking help.
The seminar will be followed by an opportunity to network with attendees.
