Introducing the partnership
If you are considering starting a rewarding career in teaching where you can make a real difference in the lives of young children, come and find out what Waterton can offer you!
You’ll learn how effective teaching can impact a child’s educational progress, developing teaching skills informed by theory and subject knowledge. You’ll apply your knowledge in a classroom setting, working in all areas of the national curriculum. You’ll understand the roles and responsibilities of a teacher and develop the professional skills of planning, teaching and assessing learning, as well as how to build effective relationships with children.
The advantage of the School Based Training route is that you will spend the greatest proportion of your time working within schools and all our training is delivered bespoke to the Waterton cohort by outstanding school development leaders and current practitioners at our Centre for Excellence.
The training will focus on developing teacher knowledge and becoming a research led practitioner.
One hundred percent of our trainees in 2020 who successfully completed their PGCE became teachers, the majority within the Waterton Academy Trust. We are proud of our one hundred percent employment record during our four years as a training provider.
In our partnership we have primary schools in the Wakefield area
Courses and Subjects Offered:
- Primary PGCE (3-7) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
