What is School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)?
A SCITT PGCE is a school-led route, offering Secondary PGCE courses through a partnership of local schools and Leeds Trinity University
SCITT courses are ideal for any graduate who wishes to complete their teacher training within a school environment. It allows you as a new teacher to experience first-hand what pupils find difficult in your subject. You will work directly with your lead subject tutor to meet these challenges.
Leeds SCITT has been training outstanding secondary teachers in West Yorkshire since 2004. Your PGCE programme is designed in partnership with Leeds Trinity University and the schools within the Leeds SCITT partnership. You’ll be based in a school from day one and your training will be very hands-on.
