The session will be led by Leeds Trinity University alumnus Lewis Walch and his colleague Richard Tollinton.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi brought Transcendental Meditation to the UK in December 1959. It doesn't focus on breathing or chanting, like other forms of meditation. Instead, it encourages a restful state of mind beyond thinking.
What’s happening
This session is for anyone interested in ways to potentially develop to their full potential, reduce stress, improve mental and physical health, improve academic performance, be happier, improve relationships, sleep better and improve athletic performance.
You will find out about the effect of Transcendental Meditation on the mind, general health, social relationships and its contribution to creating a peaceful world. The hosts will also explain the difference between Transcendental Meditation and other meditation techniques, how it is practised, where it comes from and what the requirements are for learning it. This will be followed by course of instruction and six months follow-up for those who are interested in learning.
