Our activities

We pride ourselves on preparing our students for their future careers by giving them the experiences and confidence they need to succeed in a changing world. Throughout the year, students take part in a wide range of activities designed to build their professional skills and broaden their understanding of industry expectations.

Examples include immersive industry visits and collaborative projects with employers, hackathons that develop creative problem‑solving, employability fairs that enable our students to network with various organisations, and tailored employer trips that offer valuable insights into real working environments. Together, these opportunities help ensure every student gains the practical experience, networks, and self‑promotion skills they need to thrive in their chosen career path.

We visited the Amazon LBA5 fulfilment centre with Level 6 and Level 7 students to get a 'behind the scenes' look at their whole operation - an interesting and insightful look at the complexity involved in such a fast-moving environment.  They have an amazing site full of robots and innovation. 

Employability Fair

Our Level 6 Computer Science students took part in a networking session hosted by the School of Computing & Creative Industries in collaboration with Careers+Placements. Representatives from UST, FDM, LexisNexis and Accenture met with students in short rotating conversations, offering insights into graduate career pathways, employer expectations and key skills sought in the sector. Students engaged enthusiastically, asking thoughtful questions to support their future career planning. Employers valued the opportunity to share their expertise during the event held at our Leeds City Campus.
