Whether you're living on our Main Campus, at Clarence Dock Village or somewhere else altogether this year, we know you'll feel right at home at Leeds Trinity University.
Leeds is one of the UK’s best student cities. We're confident it won’t take long for you to settle in, make new friends and start exploring all the city has to offer.
Our 2024 moving-in dates are:
Saturday 14 September - students living at Clarence Dock Village, including Foundation Year students.
Sunday 15 September - students living on our Main Campus in Horsforth, including Foundation Year students
Parking at our Main Campus and Clarence Dock Village is free during moving-in weekend. Our Accommodation team will be in touch within the first few weeks of September to provide more detailed information and confirm your specific moving-in slot.
If you haven't yet booked your university accommodation, please contact our Accommodation team directly by emailing accommodation@leedstrinity.ac.uk or calling 0113 283 7112.
Collect your keys and student ID card
If you're moving into our halls of residence, one of the first things you will need to do when you arrive is collect your keys.
For students living on our Main Campus, you'll receive an email nearer your moving-in date with details and directions of where to go to pick up your keys.
For students staying at Clarence Dock Village, you'll be able to collect your keys directly at the property on Saturday 14 September.
Student ID cards will be available for students to collect from the Main Campus reception during week commencing 16 September. You will need to bring an original ID document (ideally your passport), from the list in your Get Going Guide.
What to bring with you
If you're joining us in September, chances are you've probably already started thinking about what to bring with you. To help, we've produced a comprehensive packing checklist which you can download below. Keep your checklist updated when packing so you don't forget anything when you move in!
What bills are included
If you are living in university-owned accommodation, either on our Main Campus or at Clarence Dock Village, your rent includes gas, electric, internet and water bills, plus contents insurance. As a student, you are not liable to pay council tax.
If you are not living in one of our halls of residence, make sure you know what bills you are liable to pay. If you are unsure, you can contact our Money Advice team at moneyadvice@leedstrinity.ac.uk.
Contents insurance at Leeds Trinity
Students living in university-owned accommodation have contents insurance included in their rent through Endsleigh. Make sure you understand what is and what is not covered by the policy so that you can decide if meets your needs. You may find you need to extend it to protect all of your possessions both inside and outside of your room.
You can review the contents cover provided by entering policy number HH1356 at www.endsleigh.co.uk.
Students living in non-university-owned accommodation may need to purchase contents insurance as it may not be included in your contract.
TV licence
You will need to purchase your own TV licence if you plan to watch television in your bedroom and/or shared area. Find out more details about TV licensing.
Get connected with Wi-Fi
Leeds Trinity University provides you with free high-speed internet connection across all our campuses and halls of residence.
eduroam is a secure, fast, wireless (WiFi) Internet access service, available to anyone with a university email address.
Get connected by logging in with your university email address and password when you select the eduroam wireless network on your device. You will be asked to accept a trust certificate to connect. If you are staying in halls, our Wifinity Wi-Fi will offer you fast and reliable service.
You can find out more via the IT Support tile on myLTU.
Parking
Parking during moving-in weekend is free of charge. For students who wish to use parking facilities during term-time there are some considerations to bear in mind.
Main Campus
Car parking onsite is extremely limited on our Main Campus, so we encourage all students to use our excellent public transport links where possible. If you require the use of a car, we operate a pay and display system Monday to Friday between 8.30am - 4.30pm. Parking is free of charge during weekends.
Non-resident students are also able to apply for a parking permit that is valid for use at Yarnbury Rugby Club - located across the road from our Main Campus in Horsforth.
Clarence Dock Village
On-site parking is available for permit holders throughout the Village. You can contact Unite Students directly to obtain a parking permit. On-street parking is also available on Clarence Road.
For further details on car parking, please see our Car Parking Policy.
Shuttle bus
During term-time, we operate a free shuttle bus that connects Leeds Trinity University to Horsforth Train Station and other local amenities in Horsforth such as the local supermarket and the doctor's surgery.
The bus is fully wheelchair accessible and this is a free service.
Your first weeks
To help you settle in, we've put together a series of events during Welcome Week, Monday 16 - Sunday 22 September.
Your first few weeks are also a good time to register with your local GP. Our Student Support team will be on hand to help as you adjust to university life.
