Summer schools

Gain a taste of studying in another country during your summer break and the opportunity to take courses in something new. Meet people from around the world and go on cultural trips.

Sogang University - South Korea 

Study a range of courses including Korean Language, Korean Society, Korean History and K-Pop Studies in Seoul. Meet students from around the world and explore South Korea.

How do I apply?

We have six places available; places will be allocated based on personal statement scores, and priority will be given to students who are classed as disadvantaged participants. 

The deadline for applications is Friday 16th January, please make your application using our Microsoft Form.

What are the costs and funding?

The summer school is roughly £2,400 including course fees, accommodation and trips. 

Turing funding is available to help with costs, including flights for disadvantaged participants.

Alphard Educational - Romania

Typically 3-12 weeks long, Alphard Educational provides you with an opportunity to gain teaching experience, improve management skills and enhance life skills through volunteering, living with international students and attending social and cultural events and activities.

The work involves teaching English to children aged between 6 to 18 years old who cannot afford trips abroad, so you'll bring the “abroad” to them. You will be the tutor, trainer or teacher and will run fun English classes for children and teens, through games, sports, art, and journalism according to students' age.

All the support, training and materials are provided for you and you will always have one or two Romanian assistants ready to help.

What are the costs and funding?

During the trip, you will need minimal spending money.

Alphard offers plane tickets from most European capitals, transfers to and from Bucharest and the camp, three meals a day, accommodation with the other students involved in the program, trips, free training for the placement, and support during all the activities held in the camp along with a lot of fun.
