The Faculty of Social Sciences and Education (FSSE) is the largest faculty and comprises four Schools:

 

Our researchers bring a wealth of research and professional expertise which inform interdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange which challenges and advances knowledge and/or practice for the benefit of stakeholders. 

We collaborate with partners across the UK and internationally, host high-profile events and we disseminate our findings widely through books, academic journals, conference presentations, webinars and social media. Our interdisciplinary approach is based on collegiality, collaboration and co-creation with internal and external partners, underpinned by shared aims to enact social change to improve lives and wellbeing for all.

We are active in a wide range of research and professional networks, including the Leeds Learning Alliance, British Educational Research Association, the Schools History Project, The US National Association of Drug Court Professionals, The Public Health Institute (California), Leeds Violence Reduction Network, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, Youth Justice Board Advisory Group, Tinnitus UK, Association of Law Teachers, The Law Society and The Bar Council.
