We’ll work with you from day one to explore your options, secure placements (a required component of many Leeds Trinity degrees), navigate the job market, connect you with employers through events, and so much more.

We’re here to help you navigate towards a fulfilling future and give you a head start to achieve your career goals.

Professional placements

Many of our degrees at Leeds Trinity have compulsory placement modules which provide you with the chance to get industry-relevant experience and skills.

These sessions include:

  • Introduction to professional placements, where to get support and key dates to remember
  • Information on industry-relevant opportunities
  • The importance of transferrable skills
  • What you need to do to secure a placement

Placement check-ins

You can attend Placement check-ins throughout the year where you will be given the opportunity to discuss current placements available on MyCareer. We can support you with applications and general placement advice. Placement check-ins will run in November, January, and March.

Placement support

Our professional team of Placement and Employability Officers offer one-to-one appointments and weekly drop-ins to support with CV development, placement applications and interview skills as well as general reminders and advice about the process.

Events and sessions

We run a number of placement events and sessions throughout the academic year. These will provide you with opportunities to find and secure a placement, get advice from the team and connect you with contacts in the industry.

Placement wellbeing and support

We offer support to those who are worried or anxious about their placement. These sessions will be held throughout the year to provide tips and strategies to make the placement journey easier to manage.

Graduate employment

Graduate employment is all about boosting your career skills and experience to get you ready for graduate life.

Your Career Passport has been designed to help you record and showcase the career skills you will develop throughout your studies, providing you with a bank of evidence to use for future job applications and interviews.

The passport will help you to:

  • Learn and develop important skills through bespoke learning pathways designed for Leeds Trinity Students

Career support

We offer one-to-one appointments, in-person or online, to support you through your career. There are two options:

  • Careers Information and Advice appointments are with our professional Careers Advisers, who will help you with CVs, applications, interview tips and any general career questions you may have.
  • Careers Guidance appointments are with our Careers Consultant who will help you understand what your options are, including what career paths are available to you and will help you set some goals to get you where you need to go.

Mentoring Programme

All Leeds Trinity students are invited to take part in our exclusive programme where you will be matched with a mentor to help you to develop your confidence, expand your professional network and give you a competitive edge in your career.

Mentors include alumni, employer partners, and University staff.

Keep an eye out on your student emails for your invite!

Meet the Employer events

From networking sessions to industry talks, we’ll invite a wide range of employer partners onto campus to give you an insight into the industries you’re interested in. You’ll be able to hear about real-world experiences, make new connections and even find your dream career!

School Partnerships

For those students taking part in our Primary Education programmes, you will find the School Partnerships Office in AG12 in the main University building.

The School Partnerships Office is responsible for managing your school-based training placements. Each training programme has a specialist adviser who will be on hand to support you before, during and after your school-based training modules. This is your first point of contact for guidance, support, and advice about school-based teaching.

You will meet the team before you join your host school.
