The University has welcomed Lisa Williams to drive its strategic international ambitions, collaboration and growth plans.

As Director of Global Engagement, Lisa will lead on the development of the University’s strategy and vision for international development, which will involve reviewing practice and driving a clear international agenda.

The role will have a critical focus on the external market and the identification of opportunities to maximise international partnership recruitment, as well as international knowledge exchange and research partnerships. Lisa will lead on internationalising the curriculum and reputation-building activities for the University through Transnational Education (TNE) collaborative partnerships.

Lisa brings a wealth of experience in building international links in academia and beyond, joining Leeds Trinity from the education technology platform Adventus, where she was Partnerships Director for UK and Europe, responsible for building its brand and engagement across the continent.

Prior to this, she was at De Montfort University for four years, most recently as Deputy Director of International, and before that Coventry University for three years as the International Officer for southeast Asia and West Africa.

Lisa said: “I’m thrilled to have joined Leeds Trinity University and think I’ve joined at a really exciting time, knowing the ambitious plans we have ahead of us for international growth and collaboration. I’m really looking forward to working with what I already know will be a great team on this forthcoming international journey.”

Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Leeds Trinity University, Professor Malcolm Todd said: “We are delighted to welcome Lisa to Leeds Trinity University. She brings a wealth of experience which will be invaluable to the institution as we seek to broaden our international relationships and impact across the globe as a key priority of our Strategic Plan over forthcoming years.”

Leeds Trinity University recently launched its Strategic Plan 2021-2026, built around the four Strategic Pillars of ‘Education and Experience’, ‘People and Sustainability’, ‘Research, Impact and Innovation’, and ‘Careers and Enterprise’. It is focused on the positive contribution the University can make in the Leeds City region, the UK and wider world.
