When you study in the School of Education, you’ll gain the skills and expertise you need to excel in the classroom. The in-school placements you undertake as part of your degree will give you the experience you need to graduate as a confident teacher. 

We are a friendly and inclusive team, who will support you in achieving your goal of becoming a confident, skillful teacher. We'll also help you to secure the best job in the world, in your first qualified teacher post. We are well known for our research-informed teacher education, with national and internationally renowned researchers on our team here in Horsforth.

Study courses that will give you professional recognition

On successful completion of your undergraduate or PGCE degree programme, ensuring you meet the Teachers' Standards, you'll be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). 

If you're studying for a PGCE, you'll also receive a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
