Owner, Tutor Doctor

No two days are the same. I’m constantly meeting with potential tutors and families.

My teaching career

I worked at Leeds City College for fifteen years. I undertook different roles including curriculum leader, Senior Tutor ESOL and Student Development Manager. After 15 years working in the third biggest College in the UK I felt many parents were looking for ways to provide additional support to their children, during their journey to achieving their goals. This led me change my career and setup a Tutor Doctor franchise in the North.

Tutor Doctor

Tutor Doctor is part of an international franchise that has been running in the UK since 2004. The first franchise was set up in the Southeast and there are now seventy franchise owners in the UK. The four owners who operate in Leeds all work together and support each other’s work. After an in-house assessment, the Tutor Doctor team will provide a hand-picked tutor to match a child’s needs. We will then provide them with the building blocks and confidence they need to achieve their goals. The initial consultation is a free service and we offer guidance as to possible ways forward to support a child’s learning.

What I enjoy most about my job

No two days are the same. I’m constantly meeting with potential tutors and families. I’m also busy promoting the company through community marketing and maintaining a presence on social media. Best of all, is being present as a parent! I get to attend netball matches, prize giving ceremonies, school events and birthday parties because I choose when and where I work.
